Page 2 “OK, so who’s on first?” “What?” “No What’s on second” James was hoping that Euro knew the whole Abbot & Costello sketch, it was his favorite, along with the donut math sketch. She didn’t. “James you have to come with me.” They walked down Rue Saint Pere to the edge of the Seine. “James, can you see that boat out there, near Isle St Luise?” “Yes.” “We know that Blowhard is onboard.” “And he has stolen the master passwords for the MI6 database.” “OK.” James wasn’t quite sure what a data thingy was. Euroback turned from the boat and looked directly at James, “It’s a big place where we store all of the agents’ information, real name, phone number, address, and you know INFORMATION.” “Oh.” “He hasn’t been able to get in yet, as he doesn’t know the user ID’s for any password.” “OK, so what can I do?” Euroback looked over to the boat floating gracefully down the Seine, “Steal it back!” James stared at her for a moment before she spoke again “It’s on that boat.” “What is, Blowhard?” “No James, THE LIST.” “So we need you to swim out there and get it back for us.” James looked at Euroback and then the river, “Are you mad?” “It’s February, in Paris, and I’m 74 years old.” “But James, you’re our only chan…” Euroback was cut off. “I could die in there, It’s bloody freezing!” Euroback looked at James, her eyes teary, her lips pouting, her breasts sagging. James couldn’t help noticing the last one. James scanned the area, “Look, there is a little motor boat over there, we could use that.” “James this is a covert operation.” “And?” Euroback stared at James, remembering, he was the greatest. The agency has pictures of him from all over the world, there is one from a tea party with the Queen of England at Buckingham Palace and the stories that went around in the mess were truly amazing. “The motor on the boat will make a noise” she finally said, thought for a second and then “I know. You could row.” James stared back at Euroback “Are you drunk?” “Maybe a little to much wine with dinner, ROW, ROW, I AM 74 YEARS OLD.” Euroback looked at James then the river, the boat was now 600 meters past them, downstream. James understood from the look on her face that it was too late to catch up. “Like to go for a drink, I know a little place around the corner.” James waited for Euroback to answer. “Yes, why not.”
